..Located
on San Jose Island, the second largest of the Pearl Islands,
with 44 sq. kilometers, in the middle of the Gulf of Panama
and just 90 kilometers away from Panama City. This island is
a place of unsurpassed beauty, relaxation and adventure. At
the Hacienda del Mar you will be enjoying organic homegrown
food, fresh seafood and a heartfelt Pearl Island hospitality.
The crystal clear waters invite to relax or to explore natural
reefs. A 14,400 acres of unspoiled virgin rainforest are inviting
to be discovered. The hotel offers eco tours that are amazing
as the wildlife is abundant due to rich vegetation and the profusion
of fresh water from spring fed rivers.
Hacienda del Mar's unique and spacious accommodations blend
island charm and modern comfort all just steps from the beach.
This Eco resort offers three types of beach front bungalows;
Standard, Jr. Suite and VIP bungalows. Each bungalow offers
an array of amenities to make our guest's stay as carefree and
comfortable as possible, such as, full and king sized beds,
air conditioning, lighting and ceiling fans, large private tiled
bathrooms with hot showers and the freshest water. Additionally,
the VIP cabanas have a mini refrigerator stocked with refreshments,
coffee and tea making facilities.
The main club house offers several screened sitting rooms, a
sunny dining room which overlooks the "Three Monks",
a small library, a bar with a cozy lounge with a pool table
for drinks and sunset gatherings, a swimming pool overlooking
the Pacific ocean, a snack bar, a sauna and a gym.
Over 35 splendorous coral white, ebony black and radiant gold
beaches and coves surround San Jose, embedded between the temperate
and calm turquoise and blue waters of the Pacific Ocean in the
Gulf of Panama. A blanket of lush vegetation covers the whole
island's gentle sloping hills. The coastline is very irregular,
affording many anchorage locations. The soil is extremely fertile
and nourishes a wide variety of vegetation including gallery
forests with trees rising 20 meters and higher with occasional
arboreal giants. Coconut palms and wild sugar cane are found
along the coastline. Many rivers and springs, the main ones
flowing steadily year-round, providing for abundant pure fresh
waters irrigates San Jose.
The dry season is between November and April, but the weather
is lovely year round and it is pleasant during rainy season
as well. The average daytime temperature is 28 degrees C.
Activities at Hacienda del Mar include diving, snorkeling and
exploring the island beaches, but fishing is particularly noteworthy.
The waters of San Jose abound in tropical game fish and are
considered among the best fishing grounds in the world. Sixteen
black marlin world records have been conquered in these waters.
Sailfish, amberjack, bonito, wahoo, dolphin, sea bass, red snapper,
